Another throw together breakfast smoothie that worked out! And by worked out I mean the kids drank it.
My little one actually asked for a BIG glass, so I did an inner mom dance and carried on.
This one has a handful of baby kale and because of the chocolate colour they had NO IDEA.
It’s those little things that can make you feel like you’ve got it all together…that is until I go past my heaping load of laundry.
As you can see in the picture (posted on Instagram Story) I spelled help hearts instead of hemp hearts. I…

We can’t get enough chocolate cups in our home.
There are endless reasons why I love them and the list gets longer every time I make a batch.
Here are a few:
They take 10 minutes to make
It is the easiest recipe EVER. My 6 year old can make it without supervision.
They look like you’ve slaved over them for hours.
They contain simple, real ingredients that provide benefit to the body.
You can get creative with so many flavour variations.
They are a perfect dessert for when company is unexpected. They keep for a long time…

There is definitely no better compliment then when your kids say the love your food. They are the toughest critics and these days with my eldest going through a picky-eater phase, hearing him say these are my best muffins is THE BEST.
If you’ve been following my posts, you have figured out that I always try to jam in as many nutrients as possible, yet still make it kid-approved, with some sweetness and creaminess and taste-bud friendly texture. This mini is JUST THAT and so much more!
I’ve been using my browning bananas for most of my baking lately, but…

It’s easy to get in a smoothie rut during the winter months as our body doesn’t crave cold and water-dense ingredients. We’d rather be eating heavier, warming foods when the temperatures are below zero. Now that we are in April we are awaiting May flowers, listening to birds sing and ditching the snow tires. Fresh, colourful, and light are some of the words that come to mind when I think about Spring. It’s the time we reconnect with nature and our bodies. It’s important that we help our bodies to “spring clean” and eliminate lingering toxins and other elements that…

My passion for nutrition was born from struggle.
I spent many years doubled over in pain as a child not knowing why I always felt sick and tired. I was worried with every bite of food I ate because I felt constant nausea, stomach pains, constipation and dizziness. I started out on a pretty crappy diet. It consisted of canned soups, cheese spread on white bread, flavoured chips, crackers and many versions of fast food. I was eating what a lot of the kids in my neighbourhood were eating, but I was always feeling sick. So sick that…

Chocolate is a feel-good food. When we are stressed or feeling low in energy, this is one of the most common foods we crave as it boosts our mood and evokes the same feelings as when you are in love.
Many chocolate bars on supermarket shelves have a high amount of refined sugar, poor-quality oils and artificial ingredients, which can lead to mood disruptions, weight gain and further stress!
When you have a chocolate craving, try this Homemade Dark Chocolate Bark. With simple, wholesome ingredients you can reach for a small piece of this and feel good after.
Homemade…

Chia pudding is a energy-boosting, velvety tasting, good-for-everyone snack/dessert or even meal (if you make it with the right ingredients)
I make at least one batch every week and change up the flavours. Chocolate is usually my favourite, but I decided to change it up this week.
I’m SO SICK OF THIS BONE CHILLING WEATHER, so I made a tropical-tasting chia pudding to add some sunshine to our food.

“It’s hard to know what feeling good feels like if you don’t give your body the right fuel.” This was straight from the mouth from my own husband who lost 9 pounds, went down 5% body fat and dropped 2.5 inches of his waist in 6 weeks on The Hubby Diet.
We have been together for 14 years and simply being married to a Nutritionist he felt that he ate healthy because he came home to a healthy dinner. However, he would barely eat breakfast, go all day without eating much and then eat all night, after his healthy…

Today I had the opportunity to zero-in on two viewers meals and offer some healthy suggestions on The Marilyn Denis Show. This is one of my favourite parts of being a nutritionist because I know that even a few small changes made everyday can set the stage for a huge exciting change. One of the suggestions I made was to try new foods and swap out the not so healthy products for better quality ones.
I showcased Little LIFE Box as an easy way to begin this change.
